İşitme Kayıplı Öğrencilerin Kaynaştırma Ortamına Devam Etmelerine ve Destek Eğitim Odası Hizmeti Almalarına İlişkin Öğretmen Görüşleri

Öğretmenler, kaynaştırma uygulamalarına yönelik bakış açılarının incelenmesi, destek eğitim hizmetinin planlanması ve uygulanması açısından önemlidir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, sınıflarında işitme kayıplı öğrenci bulunan sınıf ve branş öğretmenlerinin kaynaştırma uygulamalarına ve destek eğitim odası hizmetine yönelik görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada, olgu bilim modeli kullanılmış, veriler odak grup görüşmesi yapılarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcıları bir ilkokul ve ortaokulda çalışan 6 öğretmendir. Araştırma verileri, katılımcı bilgi formu ve odak grup görüşmesi ses kaydı ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizi sonucu; (a) fiziksel ortama ve öğrenci sayısına yönelik görüşler, (b) destek eğitim hizmetinin bileşenlerine yönelik görüşler, (c) işitme kayıplı öğrencilerin kaynaştırma ortamındaki performanslarına yönelik görüşler temalarına ulaşılmıştır. Bu araştırmada; erken cihazlandırılan, aile eğitimi almış ve okul öncesi dönemden itibaren nitelikli destek eğitim hizmeti sunulan işitme kayıplı öğrencilerin sınıf/branş öğretmenlerinin deneyim ve görüşleri alınmıştır. Kalabalık sınıflara ve destek eğitim hizmetinde zaman zaman yaşanan aksaklıklara rağmen katılımcılar, kaynaştırma ortamında işitme kayıplı öğrencilerinin sosyal uyum ve akademik becerilerinde gelişim gözlediklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Araştırma sonuçlarından yola çıkılarak; destek eğitimin sistematik ve öğrenci ihtiyacına uygun planlanmasının, alan uzmanı öğretmenler tarafından sunulmasının, sınıf/branş öğretmenlerinin işitme kayıplı öğrencilere ilişkin bilgilendirilmesinin ve destek eğitim öğretmenleri ile işbirliği kurulmasının akademik ve sosyal becerilerin gelişimi üzerinde önemli bir yeri olduğu söylenebilir.
